The PROtegni Raka Association was established by the employees of ProCredit Bank (Bulgaria) EAD with the main objective of providing financial assistance for the treatment of sick children up to the age of 18 (eighteen) years from socially disadvantaged families, children who have lost either one or both of their parents, children from large families and families that are facing financial difficulties. Each employee can contribute by making a small monthly donation. Clients and partners of the Bank can also join the initiative. Anyone can join the PROtegni Raka cause through voluntary monthly donations or a one-off voluntary donation. We should never forget that empathy is a virtue, a caring and conscious act for the well-being of others.

Who does PROtegni Raka help?

The funds raised by the Association are used exclusively to provide financial assistance for the treatment of sick children up to the age of 18 (eighteen) years who come from socially disadvantaged families, children who have lost either one or both of their parents, children from large families and families that are facing financial difficulties. Assistance includes the purchase of medical equipment for disabled children to improve their physical condition, the purchase of medicines, assistance to cover the cost of surgical operations and tests, and post-operative hospitalisation. The money goes directly towards covering the cost of medical equipment, medicines or treatment. It is always paid directly to the provider of the service, the hospital performing the surgery or the supplier of the medication/the medical laboratory.

Our principles

Who can join the initiative?

In addition to the employees of ProCredit Bank (Bulgaria) EAD, the charitable initiative is open to the Bank’s clients and partners, and anyone who supports the ideas and the cause of the Association. Anyone can join the PROtegni Raka cause through a one-off voluntary donation or voluntary monthly donations.

What is the structure of PROtegni Raka?

PROtegni Raka is represented by the Managing Board of the Association consisting of 3 members, and decisions are taken by all members who are employees from different branches of ProCredit Bank (Bulgaria) EAD. Almost all of the Bank's employees contribute to the cause of PROtegni Raka as donors.

How are decisions made at PROtegni Raka?

The decision to grant assistance for medical treatment requires a vote of the members of the Association.

If the vote is unanimous, i.e. if there are only FOR or only AGAINST votes, a majority of 33 % of members is required to approve/reject a proposal.

Where there are opposing votes, i.e. FOR and AGAINST, a 50 % + 1 majority of the votes of members is required for approval.

For any decision of principle, such as the admission of new members or changes to the Policy or the Statute of the Association, a majority of 75 % of the members must cast their vote for a decision to be made.
